Course Learning Outcomes:

           Understand fundamentals of Sanskrit Language. Analyse Srikrsnavilasakavyam with conjunctions and compounds. Understand simple Subhasitas. Understand two prominent Sanskrit Poets and Dramatists. Understand two prominent Sanskrit Philosophers of Kerala.

Module 1    Familiarizing Devanāgarī script, Noun, Pronoun, Verbs, Cases and their meanings, Simple tense forms,                                              Genders and Transliteration. 

Module 2    Textual Study of sloka from a simple text Srikrsnavilasakavyam Canto 1 (1 -17 Sloka).

Module 3    Study of 10 selected Subhasitas.

Module 4    Significant Poets , Dramatists and Philosophers in Sanskrit Literature : 

                     Valmiki & Vyasa

                     Kalidasa & Bhasa

                     Sri Sankaracarya & Sri Narayanaguru.
